Tucson Commercial Safety Glass
Protect your business, employees, and customers with premium commercial safety glass. We install tempered, laminated, and security glass solutions that meet all building codes and provide peace of mind.
Commercial Glass
Secure Your Commercial Environment
Safety glass is essential for modern commercial buildings, required by law in high-traffic areas, doors, and storefronts. Unlike standard annealed glass, safety glass is specifically engineered to minimize the risk of injury if broken and to provide enhanced security against break-ins or severe weather.
Andy’s American Glass provides expert consultation and installation of tempered and laminated safety glass tailored to your facility’s unique security requirements and aesthetic goals.
Types of Commercial Safety Glass
We offer specialized glass solutions designed for different levels of protection and compliance.
Tempered Glass
Heat-treated to be 4-5 times stronger than standard glass. If broken, it shatters into small, blunt pebble-like pieces rather than dangerous sharp shards. Ideal for doors and low windows.
Laminated Glass
Constructed with a strong plastic interlayer between two sheets of glass. If shattered, the pieces adhere to the interlayer, preventing the glass from falling out and providing an excellent barrier against forced entry.
Security & Impact Glass
Heavy-duty, multi-layered glass solutions designed to withstand severe impacts, extreme weather, and high-security threats for sensitive commercial environments.

Safety Glass FAQs
What is the difference between tempered and laminated glass?
Tempered glass is heat-treated for strength and shatters into small, blunt pieces when broken. Laminated glass consists of two glass panes bonded with a plastic interlayer, so if it breaks, the glass sticks to the layer and remains in the frame, providing better security.
Where is safety glass required by law?
Building codes generally require safety glass in “hazardous locations,” which include all commercial doors, large windows near the floor, glass adjacent to doors, and wet areas like bathrooms or pool enclosures.
Can tempered glass be cut after it is manufactured?
No. Once glass is tempered, it cannot be cut or drilled. All measurements, cutting, and edge work must be completed before the tempering process, which is why precise measurements are critical.
Is laminated glass bulletproof?
Standard laminated glass is not bulletproof, but it is highly impact-resistant. We can provide specialized ballistic-rated security glass for facilities that require maximum protection.
